Mechatronic Engineering
Mechatronic engineering is a relatively new discipline that combines the roles of the mechanical, electronic and control engineer. They integrate the mechanical design of a piece of equipment, and the interface between the device and the computer system that controls or measures it. They focus on automation and mechanised machines, and have expertise in both mechanical aspects as well as electronics design, and control systems. Mechatronic engineers are becoming increasingly popular, as more aircraft and their systems are controlled entirely via computer systems.
